Should I do search engine marketing (Google, Yahoo etc) if I am a manufacturer (not a direct seller)?

- Yes, because you still want to be found. Your competitors all have sites as well. And you can reap benifits by having a web site and marking the site. In today's world, this is a must have and should never be overlooked. - Yes, but be careful who you let 'optimize' your website. This is a really helpful article to read that explains it all:
- depends on your context, if you are a local guy who is happy with around the corner steady customers then search engine marketing is not your cup of tea or coffee. I am sure that is not ur business objective and therefore SEO is critical. the world is too big for you to forage customers, and the information they have is too much to forage you! search engines automate this for you. 2 things you can d o 1. SE - marketing >> actively find customers, events in your domain and reach out, write leading articles in blogs and tech sites in your domain with references to your products. 2. SE - optimization where you set up an online info site and build it in a way that users SE wont miss you out. you can look up my slides space where i will shortly put up a ppt on SEO Vishwanath
- yes it will be helpful to you in long run, anyway it will prove to be an advertisement for your product.. thou you are not directly selling but it will increase the chances of people finding your product. who ever markets but when the product sells its you who are going to gain. a good site with good visitiors and a good page ranking is biggest assets of our times and it will be more costly then anything in the world in future. so better you make your postion sound the webworld.
