IT, How can you tell if your domain is in the search engine?

How can I tell if my web designer submitted my domain name into the search engine? Would something like www.bluh.com pop up exactly like this? (this is not my site do not go there)

1. Check you site here: http://siteexplorer.search.yahoo.com To see if google has indexed your site, do a google search like this: site:www.yoursite.com(replace yoursite with your sites name) ...and see if any results come up.
