What is the difference between Web Development and Web Design?

1. Well in web development is like say for a example Yahoo. Web design is a type of job you can take in Yahoo. Most likely if you join a Web Development team you will be divided into those tiny jobs.
2. I don't entirely agree with the first answer. Usually web-design is more graphic Design oriented, it focuses on the layout and front end ( user interface). Web development is more programing oriented it Focuses on the back-end (database and processing) as well functionality on the front in ( when I click this button this thing happens.)

4. Development is making it work The back bone. Operations etc. Design is making it pretty. Images, text, css etc. I am a developer. I suck at making things pretty but I can make things work as to where allot of people are designers.
