Domain name and yahoo web hosting?
I have a friend who has a domain registered thru go daddy. He wants me to set him up a website. I was thinking about a year subscription to yahoo web hosting and getting that domain name swapped over. A few questions: How do I get the name over to yahoo ? Are yahoo's webpages ad free and can I you front page and upload to site ? Thanks for any info.

- There's no need to move the domain name to Yahoo... When you set up the web page, there will be instructions on how to point the domain name to Yahoo domain name servers (DNS). Just log into GoDaddy, set the name servers, and you're good-to-go. If you are paying for Yahoo hosting, then yes, it's ad free. Not sure if they support FrontPage extensions for publishing anymore... FrontPage extensions are being phased out of most web hosts since Microsoft no longer supports FP extensions. However, you can still use standard FTP through FrontPage and accomplish the same thing.
- There is no such thing as free lunch, it says. Free hosting will take advantage of you one way or another and they might sell your info or will sell ad space on your webpages. They are also not as reliable as paid ones. When I started building websites, I was confused which web hosting to go for. Now I am clear about which web hosting provider is good and reliable. For your information concerned with choosing web hosting, I have selected top web hosting providers. Compare the hosting providers. Visit http://www.webhostingsites.com
- I would not recommend moving your domain name to yahoo. They are famous for high renewal prices and restricting future transfers out. Instead just point your domain to yahoo via control panel of your domain (in godaddy). Just point the nameservers towards yahoos hosting servers. Yahoo's sites are only ad free if you are a paying customer. yes, you can upload by frontpage although i would recommend that you use a lot of content management systems available ( like workpress/joomla etc) google it for that.
