What do you think about this curriculum of Web Design/Development?

In Universidad del Turabo they have an associate degree of "Web Design Technology" with 62 credits. CURRICULUM* FIRST YEAR First Semester: 15 ENGI 101: Introduction to Engineering Technology 3 ENGI 121: Introduction to Computers 3 MATH 121: Intermediate Algebra 3 SPAN 151: Introduction to Language 3 ENGL 152: Intermediate Communicative English I 3 Second Semester: 17 TCOM 240: Introduction to Internet & XHTML 4 MATH 151: Algebra and Trigonometry I 4 PHSC 120: Technical Science 3 SPAN 152: Introduction to Writing 3 ENGL 153: Intermediate Communicative English II 3 SECOND YEAR First Semester: 15 TCOM 242: Web Design and Graphics 4 CTEC 200: Computers and Peripherals 4 CTEC 340: Programming for the Web 4 ENGL 231: Research and Writing 3 Second Semester: 15 TCOM 340: Advanced Web Design, Development and Publishing 4 CTEC 210: Operating Systems, Installation & Configuration 4 TCOM 243: Web Artistic Graphical Design 4 ENGL 331: Oral Communication 3 PLEASE! Answer ONLY if you took a course of Web Design and Development or one of them. Im glad that I found a place near by that have at least an Associate Degree...I wish it was an Bachelor's Degree. But tell me (for those who took a course (associate or bachelor) of web design and/or web development), what do you think of this curriculum of an Associate Degree of Web Design Technology? In case some are confused...the numbers on the right are credits. Please answer and thanks!

  1. this course looks good to me. But I'm missing the introduction or the teaching of web standards which is a really important thing for a real web designer to understand and know when you'll be developing a web site. You can check the web standards at the site bellow http://www.w3c.org
