anyone know the average salary if you have a college degree and get a job into graphic and web design? in Canada or states? or owning you're own company

- Various job boards have statistics on this or programs that will help you figure that sort of thing... check Monster or Hot Jobs and so on... The easiest way to find out the truth is to simply scan a few ads and see what people are paying.
- salary.com does a pretty good analysis....it really depends on what part of the region you are, and also based on the quality of your folio, what you specialize in, and your experience. Owning your own independant design studio is wonderful...you basically set your own prices and salary...but its a lot of work...i'm doing this myself right now part time in conjunction w/ my full time design job. Salary is a really touchy subject, and most don't like talking about that...on one design forum i frequently visit, its forbidden to discuss pricing and salary.
