How to register a domain name without any extention?

I need to register a domain name without any extention. Is there anybody knows how should I do that? Here is an example a domain name without any extention: www.LV/ I think it's possible cause if it was not possible, how they registered www.LV/ ? Please look at www.LV/ (it dose not have any extention, it's not www.LV.com , it's "www.LV", please have a look) By the way, do you know if I can register a custom domain extention? for example => www.MyDomain.MyCustomExtention

  1. hahaha never heard of this no way there has to be a dot something so the browser knows what to find
  2. I'm sorry but currently it cannot be done. Every address must end with a so-called "Top-level domain", such as .com, .net, .org, .us, etc. However, ICANN, the organization responsible for handing them out has recently approved a plan whereby one can actually buy new top-level domains. However, they're going to cost upwards of 40,000 euros and require extensive techincal skills to manage, so it's not something just anyone can do. You'll have to stick with the regular ones for now, I'm afraid.
  3. You can't. lv is the top level domain lv (which is the Latvia country code). So www.lv has "an extension". There are plans in the works to allow people to create their own top level domains, but the price will be such that it will be limited to large companies.
  4. .LV is a domain name extension of a country. The www part is simply the name of the domain. Very much like google of google.com. If you are looking for domain names like www.lv, it is going to cost you a lot. Probably a 4 to 6 figure amount. Because it is a short domain name. Anyway, I've helped you search at Sedo for any www.extensions (e.g. www.com, www.net ). Here is the link to go directly to the search results: https://sedo.com/search/searchresult.php4?start_search=1&linkurl=&language=us&session=fc012cfd9a1a2373e22ecf16fb3ac979&keyword=www&cc=%25&kws=2&cat=%25&price=%25&listing_type=all&age=%25&len=%25&no_idn=1&checkeddomains=1&checkedprojects=1&visitors=%25&rel=1&pagesize=25&search_language=e&search_type=advanced&partnerid=35690 Keep in mind that you've got to have a huge budget to acquire such domain names.
  5. you can not register a domain name without any extention. If you are going to register a domain then the best way to register a domain for free is to purchase your domain and webhosting together. In this way it is possible to get your domain for free. Some webhosting companies offer this as a gift . I am using bluehost webhosting for mine http://www.bluehost.com/track/bluehostwebhosting/
