Where can I register domain names inexpensively? Yahoo and go daddy both charge about 9.00 for a year..?

Are there companies that you can register a domain with that cost much less? Any recommendations? Thanks! And what is the downside to going with companies that allow you to register the name for so cheap...are they any risks involved?

I use Domains at Retail ( http://www.domainsatretail.com ) for registering all of my domain names. The price for the .com is $7.95 + ICANN fee. There really isnt a huge difference in price and what you get. Sometimes the cheaper ones only offer email support. Domains at Retail has both email and phone support if you need help.
